What would it take to change the world?
Rotary’s 1.2 million members believe it starts with a commitment to ‘Service Above Self’.
In more than 34,000 clubs worldwide, you’ll find members volunteering in communities at home and abroad to support education and job training, to provide clean water, to combat hunger, to improve health and sanitation, and to eradicate polio.
In fact, Rotary has had a huge influence on New Zealand society. Crippled Children Society, Plunket, Karitane, Milk in Schools, National Kidney Foundation, Riding for Disabled, Asthma Society, Outward Bound, and National Children’s Health Research Foundation are some of the many initiatives of Rotarians seeking to make a significant difference in our communities. The Ellerslie Flower Show and the Taupo Cycle Challenge are fine examples of Rotary initiatives that have become popular National events in New Zealand.
