Lion's Cancer Lodge Shuttle
Waikato Sunrise is pleased to have facilitated another successful joint project of the Area 1 Rotary clubs this year. The Rotary clubs of Waikato Sunrise, Hamilton, Hamilton East, Frankton, Fairfield, Te Rapa and Huntly joined together working at the 2010 V8′s, to raise funds for a vehicle for the Lion’s Cancer Lodge.
The purchase of the van was completed this year, to serve as a shuttle for Lion’s Cancer lodge patients to and from the Waikato Hospital for treatment. Funding of $21500 was put towards the shuttle, this being from the joint V8 funding plus a District Simplified Grant of $1500 provided by Rotary District 9930.
