In 2010, Waikato Sunrise sponsored pupils on the Rotary Youth Programme of Enrichment (RYPEN), held at Epworth Camp in Karapiro.
RYPEN is for students aged 14 to 16 yrs (approx year 10) who are seen as ‘average’ students rather than the ‘outstanding few’, offering them opportunity for development and guidance. A range of activities are included to challenge the students, from motivational speakers to anti-drug and crime avoidance, to outdoor high ropes / confidence courses and water activities.
